A founding board member of Friends of George’s and one of its original comedic powerhouses, Gina Lola Jupiter has been a mainstay of Memphis’ queer theatre scene since before brunch was bottomless. Known offstage as Bill Zachary, Gina is a drag persona with staying power, sass, and a well-documented weakness for rhinestones and righteous one-liners.
Best known to Friends of George’s audiences as Maybelline, the iron-willed co-manager of George’s Truck Stop & Drag Bar, Gina brings a theatrical gravitas to every stage she graces—often in heels, occasionally in curlers, always in control. Whether she’s tossing out insults like appetizers or delivering punchlines that stick harder than Aqua Net, Gina’s characters are equal parts heart and havoc.
As a longtime advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and community storytelling, Bill has helped shape Friends of George’s into the daring, drag-fueled theatre company it is today. And as Gina, well—she’s just making sure the health department doesn’t shut the place down. Again.
