OutMemphis
For almost forty years, OUTMemphis has been the only LGBTQ+ community center in the Mid-South, and the scope of what they do from 892 Cooper Street is hard to overstate. They run emergency housing for young adults through the Metamorphosis Project. They walk trans youth and their families through care navigation when Tennessee keeps making that harder. They cover name changes, emergency rent, HIV linkage, senior coffee hours, and the kind of quiet crisis support that never makes the news. They also show up at the statehouse when the statehouse comes for their people. And they’re stepping into a new era: a new regional headquarters and community center in Midtown Memphis, opening in 2027, with more space, more services, and more of everything this community deserves. You can be part of it through their Resilience Campaign. We chose OUTMemphis as our 2026-27 beneficiary because the Memphis we write about on stage is the Memphis OUTMemphis is fighting for off of it. Every ticket this season helps fund that fight.
