Love Doesn’t Hurt
In a world where love should bring joy and safety, many LGBTQ+ individuals face violence simply for being who they are. In response, Love Doesn’t Hurt was founded in Memphis to provide vital support to LGBTQ+ victims of violence. Their mission is clear and urgent: to offer immediate help, foster long-term recovery, and advocate for a future where love is free from fear. Through services like emergency shelter, counseling, and transportation, they have become a lifeline for those navigating the trauma of violence, ensuring survivors have the resources they need to heal.
As the beneficiary of Friends of George’s 2023-2024 season, Love Doesn’t Hurt will receive much-needed funds and community visibility to expand their life-saving work. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advocacy, resilience, and the belief that love should never be met with violence. Together, we are helping to create a world where every individual can live without fear, supported by a community that stands for love and equality.
