Where can we park near the Evergreen Theatre?
Short answer: Free street parking on the residential streets beside the theatre is your best bet. There’s also a small lot behind the building. Whatever you do, skip the MAPCO lot next door.
The Theatre Lot
A small lot sits directly behind the Evergreen Theatre at 1705 Poplar Ave. Enter from N Belvedere Boulevard. It fills up faster than a church fellowship hall when somebody brings the good deviled eggs, so plan to arrive early.
Free Street Parking
The residential streets around the theatre have no meters and no fees:
- N Evergreen Street, directly across Poplar
- N Belvedere Boulevard, just west of the theatre
- N Avalon Street, one block west of Belvedere
Most spots are a one- or two-minute walk from the front door. Sidewalks on these blocks can be uneven in places, so watch your step in heels or dress shoes.
Do Not Park at MAPCO
The MAPCO lot next door at 1691 Poplar Ave is not for theatre parking, and they do tow. Nothing ends a good night out quite like a cab ride to the impound lot.
Tips for a Smooth Arrival
- Arrive when doors open. Doors open one hour before curtain, and the bar opens at the same time. Better parking, earlier cocktail. Fair trade.
- Stay aware after dark. The area behind the theatre can be dim. Keep valuables out of sight and walk with your group.
- Security is on site. No weapons are allowed.
Accessibility
If someone in your group uses a wheelchair or has limited mobility, the back lot is a long walk to the front entrance. Drop them at the front door first, then park. The front entrance is step-free, and two wheelchair spaces are marked on the seating map at checkout so your group can sit together. Our Accessibility Statement covers the rest.
